The heart of a Powerex scroll compressor
The Powerex SLAE is the oil-less scroll air end used in Powerex scroll compressors, sold as a bare pump in 3, 5, 7.5 and 10 HP. Its dynamically balanced design runs vibration-free at a continuous 100% duty cycle, with no oil separation, oil filtration or inlet valves.
Two identical spirals — one fixed, one orbiting 180° out of phase — trap air in crescent-shaped pockets that shrink as they move toward the center, discharging through the middle of the fixed scroll with no valves needed. Belt driven, with a 145 PSI high-pressure option. The 3 HP SLAE03EB covers both standard and high pressure.
